I would like to know how to make an old “golden animation” 1920’s- 40’s cartoon?
You know , stuff like Max Fleischer, the “Termite Terrace” cartoons, Happy Harmony cartoons from Walt Disney and all those Disney knockoffs that started appearing in the 20’s and 30’s. I would like to know how to make them look simple, and since those cartoons weren’t HD quality back then i don’t want mine to be either . I am also going to use some stuff I will record and would like to know how make it sound like an old record from the 20’s and 30’s.
How would I get the old grainy picture with the random black dots and the “crackle” Noise? I am using a Mac running OS X Tiger and am wondering if a program could help me with this.
Certainly you want the ‘rubber hose’ school of animation.
As to the sound, run it through a filter so it sounds tinny

But once they capture him, the villagers make a surprising decision about what to do with him – and soon the tiger is off and running again. Young readers can follow this simple, spunky adventure through vivacious verse, glowing orange-and-black pictures, and typography that soars right along with the tiger and his pursuers. |
