What’s a good 3D animation software program that’s free?
I need something with a skeletal structure program, movement, pointulated object creator, and maybe even real gravity funtction/software.
Blender
Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.
As far as I know it is the only freeware 3d program

Managed Directx Game Programming $30.42 Get experience in developing high performance games with rich 3D graphics with Managed DirectX Game Programming Evolution. This book focuses on high performance, retail quality software processes and uses a complete, working application to demonstrate code tehcniques. In this book, you will work with a game called Tunnel Vision, which encompsses most features that game programmers need to implement when creating any game. A high performance 3D game engine will be used to render graphics, including advance graphical features such as Vertex and Pixel Shader 2.0, high dynamic range lighting, showing, particles, and skeletal animation. You’ll also learn how to include rich sound and sound with reverberation as you work your way through Tunnel Vision. As you play the game, you will learn to increase the functionality of the application by modifying and extending the base game. Start exploring 3D game programming with Managed DirectX Game Programming Evolution. |

Character Animation With Direct3D $24.88 Character Animation with Direct3D 10 is the first complete reference for using Direct3D 10 for character animation, particuarly in games and animated films. Direct3D 10 is a dramatically changed release from previous versions and it offers incredible new power and functionality. The book teaches graphics and game programmers the essentials of Direct3D and DirectX 10 with a focus on the three major components of character animation: skeletal animation, ragdoll physics, and facial animation. It also provides coverage of other key animation subjects including lip-syncing, making eyes focus on a specific point, the how to create character animation, skeletal animation, lip synching, skinned animation, facial animation, basic physics, phonemes & visemes, animation channels, and more. |

Concurrent Programming: The Java Programming Language $79.1 The popularity of the Internet has led to rapidly expanding interest in client-server programming by all kinds of businesses and organizations. Many client and server applications benefit from their design as object-oriented programs with multiple threads of control. An object-orientedlanguage with built-in threads, Java is ideal for concurrent programming and developing multi-threaded applications. Demand for programmers skilled in object-oriented design and concurrency will only grow in the future, making concurrent programming and the Java programming language increasinglyimportant to programming students and professionals. Designed for students and professionals, Concurrent Programming: The Java Programming Language provides a practical, demonstrative introduction to the issues and concepts in concurrent programming, operating systems, the client-server model, and multiple threads. It features numerous Java exampleprograms as stand-alone applications rather than as simple applets, showing readers how to utilize the Java programming language to write programs that use semaphores, monitors, message passing, remote procedure calls, and the rendezvous for thread synchronization and communication. Each exampleprogram includes output from one or more sample runs. Multithreading issues such as race conditions, critical sections, mutual exclusion, and condition synchronization are covered. Several thread communication tools used extensively in client server programming–message passing, the rendezvous, andremote procedure calls–are also described. An algorithm animation package, written in Java, is used in several of the example programs. The book concludes with abrief introduction to parallel processing with Java. Concurrent Programming: The Java Programming Language is suitable for a concurrent programming course or as a supplement in an operating systems class. Professional programmers will also find the presentation accessible. All source code for the book is available by anonymous ftp fromftp.mcs.drexel.edu and from the World Wide Web at http: //www.mcs.drexel.edu/ shartley/ConcProgJava/index.html. |
