Today we have a seemingly endless list of computer animation software titles to choose from starting with Auto Cad and ending with Freeware. On top of that, each graphics program can have a myriad of specialized and sophisticated features.
We all know what it is like to spend hours installing a new rendering software, learning the layout and then discovering a short run down the road that the software will not do what we need it to do!
If we begin our selection process with a list of our defined requirements in front of us and become aware of the latest and greatest features, we stand a much better chance being happy with our selection in the future!
While researching, a few key points that should be on your list are:
*The number of features in that particular price range.
*How user friendly do you find the software?
*What hardware requirement does the software suggest for optimal performance?
*What do other (online) users say about the stability?
*Does it meet your other requirements? ..you are the only one that knows your full intentions!
Great news for those just getting started! There are now many easy to use animation packages available that are very cheap or even free! Do not be fooled by their price. Most of them will create stunning images! Some of these software titles are Adobe Dimension, Amorphium, Poser, 3d Canvas and Xara 3D.
If you require additional features, say higher quality or snapier rendering but, still need to keep your budget in mind, Bryce 3d, Blender and Strata may help you narrow your selection. If Budget is of less concern you may find yourself choosing from the super complex, top of the line 3d animation programs like 3Ds Max, Maya 3d, Lightwave and Houdini.
