Computer Animation Process

computer animation process
about animatics process?

I learn that animatics is scanned versions of storyboards to give you a rough idea of what the action would be. Some of the shots are sort of computer generated.

But one editor says
“As I started getting the footage I would actually start incorporating some of the live action footage into the animatic.”

“live action footage” here means CG animation? OR has any other meaning?
I don’t get “start incorporating some of the live action footage into the animatic”
Does he mean “after getting the storyboard into the video footage, then the animatics is done.”??

Please help me with this

As filming progesses (or CG work progresses) complete or semi-complete sequences can be inserted into the animatic. This can assist the filmmaker in better determining how the final product will appear to the audience. They can then make determinations about how the overall visual style is coming out vs. what they had envisioned during the pure animatic stage. They can makde decisions about what is “working” and what is “not working” and it can really help give them an idea about how other scenes that have not been shot yet will actually appear once complete
