Which type of compute do you reccomend ?

Please reccomend either MAC or PC and give examples of Software which will be of use.

it will be for the usual (surfing the web, word processing, skype etc) as well as the following:

Website development (using Dreamweaver)
flash animation development
video development (software suggestions?)
Music development (e.g. recording my band playing)

any suggestions on type of computer ? and spec ?

also size of monitor ?
Also I have a budget of £1500 (£1600 MAX) and I want this to last 2/3 years at least without upgrade requirements.

Having just bought a new computer myself, £1500 is a lot of money and you can get almost anything for that price.

To give you an idea, from Comet:
£300:
Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo processor 2.2GHz
Vista Home Premium
2GB RAM
19″ monitor

You seem to be doing a lot of graphics development, so go for a Quad Core processor, and a monitor of at least/around 22″. But like I said, you have a large budget so it shouldn’t be a problem finding a suitable PC.
