The biggest concern of computer owners is its speed. Especially when the computer is used non-stop it needs to perform at its best. Doing so is easy and you do not need an expert to make your computer run faster. Here are several PC speed up tips that you can do on your own.
1. Defrag the computer’s hard drive. As the computer is used from time to time there are traces of programs or files that are left behind. This is done because there are sectors of the hard disk that are not occupied or is a bad sector. The bad sectors make it hard for the computer to store new information into the hard drive. Upon defragging the computer it will place the files in a sequential order and repair bad sectors. This will maximize the hard disk space of the computer.
2. Scan the computer with antivirus software. This PC speed up tip has been said over and over again and this will not only clean the computer but also to protect it. There are a lot of free antivirus protections available in the Internet and it performs as well as the paid programs. Viruses are hard to remove when it has infected almost all files and folder in the computer. It is the main cause why computer slows down but once this problem has been solved you will notice the big difference on the performance of the computer.
3. Visual effects of the computer must also be adjusted. Computers running in Windows operating systems incorporate different kinds of special effects and animations that can slow down the computer’s performance. The computer will be able to run faster if these visual effects are set in minimum. Simple effects will not affect how you will work it will actually help the computer perform better. This PC speed up tip is usually not taken seriously by some users but simple things can do wonders.
4. Lessen start up programs. Do not allow all the programs installed in the computer to start automatically when the computer is rebooted. Each program will access the memory all at once and the memory will have a hard time processing each request. To uncheck the startup programs, you can go to the settings of the programs and look for the option that says “Automatically Run on Startup”.
5. Make use of registry cleaners. The registry must not be forgotten when doing computer maintenance. This is one of the places where files are stored associated with programs that are installed in the computer. Registry cleaners also serve as an all-in-one tool where in you can perform disk defrag and disk cleanup. This PC speed up tip has been proven to be effective when you want your computer to run faster.
Registry cleaners are available in the Internet for free for PC speed up. But downloading a reliable one requires a little research. When you have a program in mind, it is better if you conduct a review first on its reliability and user-friendliness. This will make computer maintenance easier.
